No pain. No suffering. No hunger.
Every need met. Every scent filled. Every want answered?
Magnificent magnolias and blooms of every color dot the landscape. Majestic mountains tower in the horizon. Lush, soft meadows extend to the edge of pristine clear lakes. Towering oaks and pines line the banks of trickling brooks, casting their shade, mottled on the water. The gentle flow of a stream gives way to a cascading waterfall, crashing into a tranquil pool below.
Marble and alabaster. Silk and gold. Sparkling gems. Purple and scarlet linens.
All are bathed in a soft glowing light of mixed hues. A light that builds to intense around His essence.
Light and Life!
Heaven is so near, yet so far beyond comprehension. I can only compare to what I know. Such a flimsy comparison.
- Will we eat? Shrimp, lobster, and crab legs please.
- Will we sing and dance without regard to ability?
- Which room will be mine? Will I care?
- Will we have just one big family reunion?
- Will there be a time to work … a time to sleep … a time to play?
- Will there be rain to dance in and snow to create snow angels in?
- What will it be like to have the Lord dwelling among us?
- Will we distinguish the Three in One?
- What will His voice be like?
- What stories will He tell?
The throne of I AM is most assuredly beyond human understanding. Yet I speculate.
Imagining life without the sadness, the hard times, the tragedies, the guilt.
Imagining life in the perpetual presence of God. It is impossible.
I can only imagine…
But the Lord, He knows and He has promised.
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. … I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.” (Revelation 21:4, 6–7).
Just imagine …
Reflections: Just for fun: What do you imagine heaven to be like?

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.
