The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky proclaims the work of His hands.
Psalm 19:1
God delights in gifting us. Of course there is the epitome of gifts in our priceless salvation. But it doesn’t end there.
The Lord has blessed us with surroundings rich in texture, color, scents, and sounds. An environment that engages all our senses.
We are captured by the magnificence of a mountain range, the majestic power of a pounding ocean surf, the deep solitude of an endless wilderness, the mesmerizing show of a jagged lightening storm or the Northern Lights.
Yet, in the busyness of each day, the treasure of creation often passes unnoticed.

Notice the Treasure
When was the last time you rested (just rested) in a lush meadow, lingered in a deep forest, dangled your feet in a flowing stream, or danced in the rain?
How long has it been since you left the city lights and sat in awe of the heavenly expanse of stars or soaked in the restful beauty of the setting sun or the glorious dawning of a new day?
Have you ever spent the evening tiptoeing after Spring Peepers, stalking owls, or simply tarrying in the deepening dark?
God blesses us with a glorious show each and every day and tickets are free! Let today be the day you attend.

Look around. Inhale deeply. Breathe slowly.
Touch the damp cool earth. Catch a scent of lilacs in the early spring. Listen for the trill of the birds, the rustle of leaves. Tune in to the sun’s warmth on your skin or the touch of a cool breeze. Meander on paths and across grassy expanses.
Look deep into heaven. Lay on a bridge or in the middle of a lawn. Notice trees silhouetted against the sky. Watch soft cloud shapes drift across the expanse. Count stars.
Open yourself to the endless reel of sights, sounds, scenes and scents. They are treasures to be enjoyed. Let yourself delight in the show.
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse” (Romans 1:20).
Questions: What aspect of God’s creation show do you most enjoy?

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.

Great point, Jennifer. It is in those busy times when we need to take note of
the Lord’s gifts the most.
Your descriptive words make me long to be in nature RIGHT NOW!! 🙂 I used to live in Minnesota and would go north occasionally during the summers to Lake Superior and a state park with a pretty waterfall, and your beautifully written words took me right back to those places. God sure did create a gorgeous world for us to appreciate and enjoy!
