Your Story Is Important [and Two-Year Blogging Anniversary Giveaway]

It really began years earlier. This writing mission. I couldn’t seem to stay away from writing and topic ideas and forming messages of encouragement.

But it wasn’t until my oldest voiced the fateful statement, “You should start a blog, Mom.” that I became serious about my ministry.

And so for two years now, I’ve blogged three times a week. But the words I type aren’t mine to take credit for.

The twisted mess I scratch out has God’s fingerprints all over them (thank you, Lord!). He forms my thoughts into coherent messages. His touch gives my ramblings meaning and allows them to fulfill a purpose–His purpose. I am humbled to be His instrument.

And so with the Lord’s continued blessing, I will continue to offer encouragement to thrive in and through the hard times. For through His grace, there is always hope.

In honor of this blog’s birthday, I’m excited to offer a fabulous giveaway.

For the next week you will be able to enter for a chance at winning Iowa author Katie Ganshert’s first two novels, Wildflowers From Winter and Wishing on Willows. Yes, that’s her first two books! Katie has a wonderful ability to impart inspiration and scriptural truths in fictional format. Read my review of her debut novel here.

Now for my five-minute Friday post on “Story.”

GO

I always wanted a story and never thought I had one.

No life-changing conversions. No miraculous occurrences. Just a churchgoing farmgirl, living life as it unfolds.

But what I’ve learned is that my story is no less miraculous or important than anyone else’s because my story is really God’s. All of our stories are God’s. And His is always miraculous. His is always lifechanging.  reflection2

The Lord is writing each of our narratives. His fingerprints trace patterns on all our lives.

And as His hands script a tale of love and redemption, we find something to share.

Because everyone needs to hear His story.

Don’t hold back, thinking you have nothing to tell. Reveal God’s story as it is played out in your life.

It’s a masterpiece for all ages.

STOP
“I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” (Psalm 118:17)

Reflection: What is the story God is scripting in your life? I’d love to hear a snippet of it in the comments!

By His grace ≈

Absolutely, Jacque! Why do we feel our stories aren’t worth telling? Remembering our stories are really God’s story should help us realize their importance. So grateful you stopped by.

  5. Mary says:

I first want to say that when I read your words, I feel that our stories are similar and I feel at home. You are two years ahead of me though. My story is unfolding everyday and I am looking forward to big changes in the next several years when I retire from teaching and move onto whatever God has in store for me.

    • Julie Sunne says:

So glad you stopped over, Mary! Following God’s plan is always an adventure; sounds like you’re in for a little twist in yours once you retire. How exciting!

  6. Jen Armstrong says:

Each of us has a story and potential for God to use our story to touch someone else. Thank you for giving us a glimpse of yours 🙂
