God Is Faithful Each and Every Day
Don’t be so quick to rush past yesterday that you miss the good in it … that you miss the God in it. God is faithful!

Reflecting Back
The year 2020 presented itself difficult in multiple ways. Many of us had lofty expectations of what 2021 should look like, myself included. So far, though, circumstances have dimmed those possibilities. Issues that plagued last year have continued into this one, and new ones seem to be added weekly if not daily.
It’s tempting to reflect back only to pine for future days of comfort and peace. That habit tempts me more than I like to admit. I see the ugliness of yesterday and grieve. I remember the hardships of the past year (many that continue) and complain. That’s not all bad. Noticing the broken things allows them to be fixed. Realizing the pain moves us to empathize and comfort others. Seeing the wrongs helps us address them for the future.
Seeing Blessings
However, the trouble many of us have is moving beyond the grieving and complaining to see the good. We get so caught up in the wrongs and struggles, we miss the blessings. No matter how dark the days are, blessings still abound: blessings such as freedom, food, home, friends, family, health and healthcare; moments of comfort and joy; warm sun and refreshing rains; green grass and brilliant sunrises; wispy clouds and glorious sunsets. Such beauty remains because our good God still reigns.
So instead of merely looking back and being miserable, look back with the intention of learning for the future as well as seeing and remembering the faithfulness of the Lord! And then look forward with eager anticipation to God’s continued blessings as He makes all things new in His time.

A New Day
Each day we awake is a new day, each one filled with new mercies and just the right amount of grace to see us through. This giving way to a glorious new day when fear, pain, sorrow, and even death are wiped away for all time!

God Is Faithful
God is faithful … in this year as in the last! In the night as in the day! Let’s be grateful for the the Lord’s hand in the past and celebrate His continued work in the future. Let’s look forward with joyful expectancy, no matter the circumstances that may be looming.
Because God is greater, and victory is secured!

Reflections: Last year proved difficult in many ways. How have you seen God faithful during that time?
By His Grace,
Julie
Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.
