Caressing Roar

Gold Brush Stroke

With the first Friday of the new year, is time again to join The Gypsy Mama for 5 Minute Friday, jotting down unedited thoughts around the prompt “roar.”refuge-public domain

GO

“The LORD will roar from on high, and from his holy habitation utter his voice; he will roar mightily against his fold, and shout, like those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth” (Jeremiah 25:30, ESV).

The Lord is a mighty and just God. He is righteous and holy. How can someone like me, sinful, with an impure heart, even hope to enter His presence?
I am so humbled and grateful, that although, indeed, the God we serve does roar down judgment upon the inhabitants of this earth, He is also a God of mercy and grace. He offered His very own Son to clean up my sin, to make me clean and pure, so I can stand in His presence.
I am in awe that although His roar sounds fierce, and it is for those who resist His calling, it is like a caress to those children that embrace His forgiveness and grace.
Yes, Father, caress me with your roar, and I will find refuge in You!

“The LORD roars from Zion, and utters his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth quake. But the LORD is a refuge to his people, a stronghold to the people of Israel” (Joel 3:16, ESV).

STOP

Are you excited to be caressed by the Lord’s roar? If not, make this the year you give your life to Jesus Christ, embracing His grace and accepting the forgiveness and salvation that are given to us freely through His death on the cross and subsequent resurrection. It is a life of freedom, hope, and joy!

By His Grace,

Julie

LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy. Hab. 3:2

Yes, love this. True. Thank you for the beautiful Scriptures that lift up the great fame of the Lion who sits on the throne who remembers mercy in His wrath.

Linked after you at FMF. Thankful I did!

Julie Sunne

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).

May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.
