The Most Effective Way to Share Truth

Gold Brush Stroke

Imparting words of God’s love is powerful.

Sharing His love through actions is more powerful.

rachel S.O. love-

A look. A smile. A hug. Demonstrating gifts of awe. Her life is just this … showing love … imparting truth in her unconditional acceptance, in her unhampered love for all.

Grabbing hands she pulls others together, refusing to allow distance to separate any of us.

In wordless wonder, she seems to ask the important questions many of us ignore:

What is of such importance to demand a wedge be driven between each other?

When the God of the universe created us to love and honor and cherish, who are we to make it conditional?

Or maybe she isn’t asking at all, but is instead intent on demonstrating the truth of God’s love for us. For each of us. For all of us.

War. Discord. Strife. Hate. Malice. Disregard. Apathy. These are all ugly words. All uglier actions. Never how it should be. Never part of God’s plan.

Her actions right such wrongs.

How can we hate when embracing each other?

How can we disregard one’s needs when we greet them with a smile and insist on holding hands?

How can we ignore the Lord’s boundless, everlasting love for us when we are mesmerized and awed by the treasures sprinkled in and through each day?

This is Rachel’s testimony. One of love. Not through words, mind you. I’ve never heard the words, “I love you,” pass her lips. But through something much more powerful and meaningful.

She imparts the truth of God’s love in the way she lives each day [←Tweet this]simply yet profoundly conveyed in her actions.

How much more meaningful is that?

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)

Reflection: Here’s a tough question to consider: Do you pay more attention to passing on love and truth with your words or in how you act? Is there someone you know who is a great example of 1 John 3:18?

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).

May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.
