“there was no room for them in the inn.” Luke 2:7 NASB
For me, Christmas is filled with family, laughter and love. No matter how many are coming, we are always welcome.
That may not be the case for you. It’s certainly not the case for everyone.
The older I get, the more I realize how blessed I am to have a happy place to be for the holidays.
Christmas Joy
Yet I also realize that our Christmas joy should not be dependent on whether we have somewhere to be or not. Our Christmas joy should not be dependent on the external trappings of our lives.

After all, the circumstances of Jesus’s birth were anything but welcoming. Born in a manger because there was no room in the lodge.
No crib.
Few amenities.
His parents forced to flee to save His life.
No, Jesus was not welcomed by many, but He came to welcome all!

Jesus, born at a time when there was no room for Him, came to secure rooms for all who would believe.
Jesus, born into a situation that was less than welcoming, came to welcome each of us into His Father’s house.
So, no matter where we find ourselves during the Christmas season, no matter what we are facing, we can celebrate with joy because our joy is anchored in Jesus.
Because Jesus came to be with us. And Jesus came to welcome us Home. And Jesus is always wherever we are.
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” John 14:2 NIV
This Christmas, I pray you have a happy place to be. But more than that, I pray you find the joy of Jesus, the joy of your salvation.
There Is Always Room For You
Because in Jesus Christ, you are always wanted. You are always loved. And there is always room for you!

“Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11 NASB
May your celebration of the Savior’s birth be filled with joy, peace, love, and hope … no matter what your surroundings look like!
May you have a very Merry Christmas!
By His Grace,
Julie

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.

Merry Christmas Julie to you and your family. I actually got to spend Christmas Eve with my daughter and 3 grandchildren and that is the first time in about 12 years or more. I’ve had a hard time with all of us living in our small house for 3 months but they’re able to move into their apartment this coming Tuesday. I will miss them but look forward to my quiet time. My husband is having his second surgery to remove the lymph nodes now that are malignant the 30th, next week. I will be by myself then, well my little companion, my precious Baby is always by my side and I am blessed to have her and the Lord and quiet times to spend with Him and His Word. I’m praying now that his surgery goes well and all the cancer is taken out. I trust the Lord to take care of him through all this. In Christ Alone, Linda
Thank you, Linda. It sounds like you had a nice Christmas. Praying all goes well with your husband’s surgery.
