Take a Risk for Life
We must risk to truly live.
Many years ago I interviewed a World War II vet. He was an amazing man. Sharing his stories of hardship and survival on the front lines.
Since that interview, I’ve often wondered if I would have been as brave in the same circumstances. Would I have stood strong by my comrades, staring death straight in the face?
As he vividly described the horrific scenes and the loss of his buddies, I wondered how he made it through. Why didn’t he just give up? Where did he get his courage?
Taking a Risk to Live
The answer may not be as difficult as I think. This hero remained resolute, fighting for his country, his fellow soldiers, because he wanted to live.
That’s the reason to be brave every day. That’s the reason to do things we don’t really want to.
To
take on the scary,
take a chance
put our reputation on the line,
expose ourselves to scrutiny and possible ridicule …
To live. It’s all to live!
The Biblical Queen Esther did it. She risked her life to gain it. She took a huge gamble by going before the king without being summoned … so her and her people could live.
Most of us will not be asked to literally face death on the front lines, but we are asked to step out in courage and faith to serve and share the Gospel.
To daily witness and reach out to the hurting world around us.
To give up the easy and comfortable for the uncertain and courageous.
Each of us are asked to step out in courage and faith to serve and share the Gospel. Share on X
Out of Our Comfort Zone
Yes, we must risk to truly live. Which means, we must step out of our comfort zone to find all life is meant to be.

What will it be? To plod through each day, risking little and gaining little or to grab life in its fullness, to step out boldly and really LIVE?
With the Lord’s help, I’m willing to choose life! Will you join me?
“Whoever tries to make his life secure will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.” (Luke 17:33)
Reflections: How are you going to begin really living today? What is your first step of boldness?

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.

Bold isn’t my nature. Thank God it’s His!
Amen, Stacie! Only through Him!
Great example from Queen Esther about risking her life to gain it! Perfect verse to accompany these thoughts, too.
I love reading about Esther. Her courage is inspiring. And it is such a blessing to receive your encouraging words. Enjoy a fabulous weekend.
Happy Sunday to you Julie!
God gave us such a nice example of using a normal woman like Esther, who’s not much different than us! God is continually “inviting” me out of my comfort zone… to join in this faith adventure with Him! To God be the glory sister! Thanks for sharing! ~ Blessings, Amy
To God be the glory, indeed, Amy! Excited to see what the next leg of the adventure will bring.
