When Your Soul Thirsts for More

Gold Brush Stroke

The sun’s rays burst over the tree tops, bathing the glassy lake surface with a soft glow. A gentle breeze rustles the leaves. Birds begin their wake-up calls. Peace blankets the early morning scene.worship

My soul is stirred, drawn closer to the One who orchestrated just this moment in time. My heart fills, almost to bursting. This is what we all thirst for. This intimate communing with the Creator.

In this broken world, such raw worship lasts but a few brief moments before being assaulted by all a day holds.

This glimpse leaves me longing. Yearning for an unencumbered relationship with the Father of all creation. One where no fear, judgement, envy, strife, confusion, uncertainty, or sorrow lurks.

The Lord of the universe longs for unhindered fellowship with us (you) as well. So much so He orchestrated an amazing rescue from the separation caused by sin.

Because of God’s intense love for us, we won’t always have to settle for brief moments of heavenly connection. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross bridged the sin-filled gap for us.

The Savior’s death and resurrection paved the way for us to one day live in perpetual intimacy with Him. A never-ending dance of pure and Holy worship.

Just the way it should be.

Until then, cultivate those moments of worship when your whole being sings—when you can drink deeply from the well.

Cherish the gift of soul worship.

“I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say: Blessing and honor and glory and dominion to the One seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever! The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.” (Revelation 5:13-14)

Reflections: Have you experienced moments of more intimate connection, a oneness, with the Lord? What setting is more conducive for this type of closeness?

I am thankful that Jesus shed His blood for my sins and saved me in order that I may know God and eventually live with Him.

Julie Sunne

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).

May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.
