Be My All, Lord! (He Is Enough)

Some mornings, I don’t have what it takes for the day, but the Lord does, and He promises to be enough for me and you, to be our all.

Light of Day

Early mornings often bring me peace. As dawn ushers in a new day, the light begins to push away the dark: the promise of new beginnings, new mercies, new possibilities.

Peeking above the horizon, the sun seeps to the farthest corners. As the light spreads, waking the day, it reminds me of the spreading Light and wakes my hope. It illuminates the darkest reaches of my heart, the shadow in the corners.

It eases the doubts, the sorrows, the angst about life’s disappointments and hurts. It provides assurances that my “not enough” is more than enough for the Lord to work with. 

So I open my heart and mind. I let Him fill my being with His Light, with Him. I welcome His enough into my lack. I experience peace. 

Lord, Be My All Prayer

Thank You, Lord, for this new day.

The promises You give and fulfill.

The hope and the mercies I can hold onto.

The light of day points to Your Light that illuminates the lingering shadows clouding my heart and mind.

It reminds me of Your power, Your love, and Your grace.

Because You are “I Am,” all I need, and You give it all to me, I have peace, despite knowing my frailties.  

So be my enough today and everyday, Lord. 

When I’m not loving, be that love for me.

When I’m not gracious, be my grace.

When I’m not merciful, be my mercy.

When I’m not kind, be my kindness.

When I can’t rest, rest for me.

When I am weak, be my strength.

When I’m not gracious, be that for me, Lord. 

When I don’t have a smile, give me yours.

Fill me with Your Light, O Lord, I pray.
