Riding the Waves of Change

Gold Brush Stroke

A whirlwind of emotions hit me last night. Tears stung my eyes as it dawned on me what I needed to do. It was time for a change. It was time for me to step down from something I’ve been involved in for a long time.Mom and Dan - change

Living Change

The decision came with much consternation. I loved the people I saw every week and the children I worked with. The thought of leaving this position tore me up.But I knew it was time for change.

Change is the story of my life this year. From sending my oldest off to college to ending a long-term, comfortable volunteer position to taking my writing and ministry to a new level. All involves change.

Some I deem good, some bad.

But really, my impressions are all relative. What I feel is good may in the long run be much more difficult than I anticipate. And the “bad” or difficult changes may really be the most edifying.

Unchanging God

In the face of life’s changes, which will come and come often, it comforts me greatly to know I can lean on a God who remains the same forever.

I know He will always love me.

He will always guide me.

He will always be there for me.

The Lord’s unchanging nature is the one thing I (and you) can count on—forever and ever, Amen!

“I the LORD do not change. So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed” (Malachi 3: 6 NIV).

Reflections: Are you experiencing disconcerting changes in your life? Can I pray for you? In what ways have you seen the unchanging nature of God revealed?

Change can be difficult at times, but you have a beautiful outlook. When we freely surrender our lives to God, and trust Him, it makes the changes so much easier. Enjoyed my visit here from the 5MF!

Julie Sunne

Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).

May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.
