Solution for Caked-On Filth [Squeaky Clean With No Scrubbing]
Oozing down His body, flowing over the parched ground. Staining all it touched.
His blood. Warm. Bright. RED. Life ending, yet life giving.
The horror of His mutilation. His sacrifice for me. His sacrifice for you. Giving of His life in the most horrendous, bloody way for all of His beloved children.
Remember the blood. Remember the red. Not as the red of anger or revenge but the red of love.
Yes, the color of love, poured out, warm and cleansing, to wipe away the filth–all of the filth. Our filth! That which no amount of scrubbing can get off.
Blood red sent to wash away not only the filth of our sins but also its stench. To cleanse us fully from the stain of death and deliver the promise of life everlasting.
We’re never too dirty for the cleaning power of that flowing river of life found in Jesus Christ. [←Tweet this.]
No matter how caked on our sin is, no matter how deep and matted the dirt gets, there is always hope in the red that flowed from the body of Our Savior as it hung on the cross. It will always have the power to make us white as snow.
So wherever you find yourself right now, open your arms and heart wide to the blood of Jesus Christ, sent to “cleanse us from all sin,” …
…without any scrubbing!
“If we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
Reflections: Do you ever feel too dirty to approach the Lord? How will your life be different if you truly believe the shed blood of Jesus Christ can and will cleanse you from ALL your sins? Let’s encourage each other in the comments.
Linking with Lisa-Jo where a crowd writes uninhibited for 5 minutes (or a few more) on a given topic. It is a wonderful exercise in letting the words flow. And this week we are over at (in)courage. Hello, I'm Julie, an imperfect wife and mother of four. Life in this broken world is not always easy. Yet, joy can be found in each day through the grace and mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ.
I find it's easy for our day's blessings to get lost in its happenings. But God's "mercies never end" (Lamentations 3:22) and His "grace is sufficient" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
May the posts and pages on this site offer you a measure of peace and encouragement.

May you enjoy His rich blessings as well, Richelle.
Great post Julie- it is so easy to take for granted what Jesus did for us. We must always view it as precious.
We can never reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice too much, Jon. Without It, there is nothing.
Oh, “never too dirty…” it’s grace, grace, grace, isn’t it, Julie? Thanks for sharing your strong thoughts today.
Yes, grace is everything, Caroline, especially when we understand our desperate need for it–how deplorable our fleshly condition is. So happy you stopped by. Blessings.
It’s so hard to get red out of something white – but through His sacrifice – He does that for us – He gets the sin out – and with the red of His sacrifice! God works sometimes in what my boys call “opposite day” ideas – like red getting the stain out! I still can’t wrap my brain totally around Jesus’ sacrifice – it is so big – but I am so glad He did!
I am so grateful too! And I love the phrase “opposite day” ideas!
