Uniquely Together [5 Minute Friday]

At The Gypsy Mama we write for five minutes flat on Fridays: no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking (at least that’s the goal). Today’s prompt is Together. (I’m a little late with this post—too much togetherness!)

I love to be alone.

To spend time contemplating the big questions; reading; wandering the countryside exploring God’s beauty; or in the Word.

However, I also love being with others. Much can be done quicker and easier with several than with only one.

How much easier (and more enjoyable) it is to spring clean or put in a large garden with multiple helpers. Or what about playing board games or sports—pretty tough alone. Or just hanging out, sharing a smile, giving a hug.

Definitely, alone-time is important and cherished by many of us. And in fact, is essential for emotional and spiritual health.

But together we can accomplish tasks impossible with only one. In community, we can encourage and support each other, wipe tears and laugh alongside.

We each have unique gifts that complement and build on others.

In relationship with other Christians we can spread to the ends of the earth, using our individual talents to bring the Gospel to the lost.

Together, as fellow heirs to the Kingdom, we can share Jesus and change the world, one soul at a time.
